The purpose of Linux Mint is to produce a modern, elegant and comfortable operating system which is both powerful and easy to use.
Started in 2006, Linux Mint is now the 4th most widely used home operating system behind Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS and Canonical’s Ubuntu.
There are a few things you need to do before you can install Linux Mint on your machine.
Download Linux Mint From http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop.
2. Burn ISO
Using your favorite software create the CD/DVD disk for install.
Insert the disk in the computer and reboot the machine.
The live desktop, you may explore a bit if you like. Click the install icon on the desktop to get started.
Select your language from the list and click Continue.
Make sure the system has room.
7. Install Type
Select Erase Disk and click Install Now
8. Time Zone
Select your time zone from the drop down list or click your location on the map.
Select your keyboard language and layout.
10. User Setup
Fill in the form to setup a user account.
Reboot your system making sure to remove the boot media before it restarts.
Enter your password to login.
